a) Who was Socrates?
Socrates was a Greek philosopher who was known for his wisdom.

b) Who approached him one day? Why?
One day an acquaintance approached him to tell him something that he had just heard about
one of Socrates’ friends.

c)  What was Socrates' reply to him?
 Socrates said that before he heard the news about his friend he wanted to make sure that it passed the triple filter test.

d) What were the three filters?
The three filters were – the truth test, the goodness test, the test of usefulness.

e) What did you learn from this lesson?
This lesson teaches us not to gossip or talk ill of others.
